PHD STANDARD EDITION

A boldly innovative device based on a unique new concept and theory.

A unique notion of compensating for the waveforms that speakers physically cannot replicate.

Speakers emit sounds by moving their diaphragm back and forth. Such vibrations cause an inertia which impacts the diaphragm's own movement and therefore disturbs the waveforms.

This often results in the sound being muffled, slow and lacking quality in the bass range, which is usually fixed by trying, through several methods, to reach a frequency-based balance.

Characteristics

The solution that PHONON has come up with is to compensate for the waveforms that speakers physically cannot replicate, by precisely conveying them before the speakers have actually emitted such sound. The PHD 1610/3010/5010 series are very sensitive independent vibrating instruments which cleverly use the back EMF, normally the cause of muddled sound, as the actual driving power supply.,/

By compensating the disturbed woofer and tweeter's waveforms (both resulting in the delay of each musically essential elements' start), we have succeeded in truly replicating the reality of the waveforms without changing the characteristics of your favorite speakers.

By getting closer to the true waveforms, you will appreciate how the acoustic field and the phase characteristics dramatically improve. Not to mention that by more quickly conveying the sound information, you will also be able to lower the adverse effects of reflected sounds. By attaching the 5010 to the woofer, you will also be amazed at the new directionality of the super-low frequencies. Finally, by changing the angle of instruments you can also control the acoustic field.

How To Use

Please attach in parallel the + and - of the cables to the speakers + and - terminals. Please use the dedicated mounts when installing the instruments on top or by the speakers.

  • Custom alteration of the instruments will be necessary if mounted on powered monitors. Should you not have any proper experience in this field, please contact us or a specialist for any alteration. Please bear in mind that by altering a product, you may lose the manufacturer's warranty on such product. Do so at your own risks.
  • Please choose an instrument that fits the size of your system.
  • We also offer several PA models. Please do not hesitate to contact us through the Contact Page PHD STUDIO Edition 1610 / 3010 / 5010

Caution

  1. Please do not drop or hit the instruments as they are fragile.
  2. Please use our designated cables for plugging to the PHD device(s). You cannot use coaxial cables.
  3. The signals to the PHD device should not exceed DC500V in dielectric strength voltage and 250V in A/C
  4. Do not unplug PHD cables while the device is in use as it may deteriorate related instruments.
  5. We recommend connecting the PHD cables close to their related speaker units.
  6. PHD devices are heavy. Please handle them with care. Do not drop them as you may hurt yourself.
  7. Do not hold the devices by their cables as they could tear apart.
